Autumn was very brief where I live, and I must lament that it came and went without a chance for me to post a bunch of outfits I had planned out. Part of the difficulty I've been having with blogging, besides general writer block, has been working with a much smaller wardrobe. I had a clear out at the end of summer, and I've been slowly trying to rebuild my closet ever since. While I will admit that I'm pleased at my chance to become a ~minimalist~ (or at least take a stab at it), not having a million clothes to ruffle through has made me feel like I've got nothing at all. It's definitely a new challenge for me, but I can't say that I hate it. I've been able to pick up some really nice pieces, and I've realized how wasteful my shopping habits have been in the past. Hows that for ~*~growth~*~?

So it's winter now, and I managed to pull together some pieces to help me brave the cold. I made a recent trip to New York for a weekend, and with limited space to pack I really had to choose the things that would keep me warm but also feel stylish and fun. On the second day, I ended up with this ensemble! Who doesn't love a longline camel coat? If you've seen any of my blog from the start, I wore this Topshop coat religiously, and I'm happy that I held onto it and that it withstood the test of time for me. The scarf I'm wearing is my latest obsession. I know y'all have seen THIS photo of Lenny Kravtiz out and about with a scarf the size of his body on, and I for one personally loved the look. When Free People came out with this scarf, I knew I had to have it - and I've received nothing but compliments since!

I've been uncharacteristically into all things baby pink, so that's the color I chose for the scarf. Never fear -- I recently picked it up in a nice reddish color too, because when something's good why just have one?? I paired it with a striped sweater, light blue jeans, and some black over the knee boots. As for the little bandana around my neck, I have not stopped wearing it since I got it. I feel like it makes every outfit cute, and the mustard color surprisingly goes well with a lot.

What do you guys always count on to keep you warm during winter? Let me know below, and as always thanks for reading!

Rekik
