Happy holidays to all! I must apologize for the lateness of this blog post, I shot it on Christmas day outside my aunt's house but my camera died before I could upload the photos... and then my computer had a fit for a few days and I had to wait to edit the photos and type this up for you lovely lot. I hope technology doesn't fight me this hard in the new year! Speaking of, can we believe it's 2015 already? I still think it's 2008 some days. The new year is the same number of years away from 2000 and 2030. Jeez. I don't know about you, but I'm starting to feel super super old...

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, I know I did! I practically dragged myself up the stairs into my bed, I was so full I was fit to burst! My family and I split the holiday between my mom's side and my dad's side, so there was a huge lunch and even huger dinner to fit into my belly. It's amazing I didn't burst right out of these pants, if I'm being honest! Enough chit chat, let's get down to this outfit now.

I'd been eyeing up this suit for months at work, but the two pieces separately were so expensive that I kept telling myself it was a pipe dream - besides, I'm probably not even cool enough to rock a suit. I'm really into the androgynous dressing thing, but I feel like I can never really pull it off right. When this gorgeous blazer and trousers suit set went on this month, I ran to the register like a bat out of hell. The color, you guys. It's the most amazing shade of burgundy/oxblood/whatever you want to call it. I'm obsessed. The fit is tailored but not overly so, which makes it really comfortable to wear. The best part is the length, as I'm quite short - I didn't have to take it to get altered, which saves me time and money! The shirt is one I've had for a couple of years from American Rag, a brand sold at Macy's. Honestly, I don't remember when I bought it, but it's definitely a staple in my wardrobe as far as floral shirts go. I just tossed on my burgundy hat, black Steve Madden pumps, and black tote and I was ready to go.

I think this suit is the perfect fit, and if you're looking for something of this color go pop into your nearest Topshop and see if there's any left! I tried to link the items above, but unfortunately everything is either too old or sold out. If you love the way this ensemble looks and are willing to spend a bit of money, the set comes in black as well and should still be available online as it's regular price. I look forward to rocking this suit as a whole and separately - I think I could definitely pair it with a turtleneck or a plain t-shirt and some Nike's for something cool and casual. For now, I'm enjoying feeling extremely fancy with the heels.

Let me know what you all think! As always thank you for reading, and may you have much love and prosperity and happiness in the New Year! See you lot then!
